My job was to create a sculpture called the ribbon of life for the womb room at the YouZeum (a health museum). The client wanted the art to create a special place much like that of the womb. The words they used to describe the space were: flowing, ethereal, passionate, special, uplifting and full of life. Yet little hands had to a able to touch it. The following photos illustrate the process I used to create the sculpture for such a space.
It was cast out of 50 yards of Arches cold press 156 lb watercolor paper. Only watercolors have been used to create the flowing quality of the art. It has been backed and coated with only archival materials.
Thanks to all who helped me become not only an artist but an engineer. A special thanks to Camille. This would never have happened without your support.
